Met on 31st December 2016 and it was love at first sight. Matthew was hosting a hot tub party for New Years Eve and had invited Kristian along.

Matthew played it pretty cool, and asked Kristian to message him on Facebook when he got home to make sure he made it back safe. Matthew definitely used it as an opportunity to start a conversation, and thank god he did.

On 14th February 2017, Matthew asked Kristian to be his boyfriend. Just to set the scene, they'd just been to see a film, in the car park, Matthew then popped the question. How romantic!

Of course Kristian said yes, and who would've thought all these years later, where they'd end up. (February 2017)

We're in full swing at this point, Kristian surprised Matthew to a weekend away in Falmouth, Cornwall for his 23rd birthday.

Their first road trip, a long 7 hour car journey and they enjoyed every minute of it. It was at this point they both knew, what they meant to each other. (April 2017)

Kristiand Matthew decided that they wanted to go on their first holiday abroad together. They chose Playa Blanca, Lanzarote and to this day, they alway said it was our best holiday ever.

They pulled out all the stops to make it a holiday to remember, and they left their mark on the island by placing a padlock by the ocean. They vowed to always keep coming back to Lanzarote as it was their safe haven. They cried on the flight home, because after spending a week together they realised they didn't want to face the reality of living apart again. (June 2017)

Lanzarote happened, and Matthew had a conversation with his Mum and explained he wanted to be with Kristian and wanted to move in together.

Things took a dramatic turn, as in September 2017, they struck gold as Michael, Matthew's brother had a vacancy come up for his apartment, so they decided to take the leap, and move in together. This was the best decision they ever made.

Kristian and Matthew were so excited to get into their new place, and did not cut on the spending either. They were constantly in Dunelm, The Range, B&M, IKEA, Home Bargains and so many other places to make their apartment perfect. Kristian's mum was there every step of the way, pushing the trolley whilst Kristian filled it to the brim.

It was so exciting, this new adventure and all because they knew how much they wanted to be together. (September 2017)

Kristian and Matthew were so lucky as their first Christmas they already had their own place. They went all out and bought their first real Christmas tree, and spent most evenings going to The Range buying a lot of baubles. Matthew played no part in this, he just pushed the trolley in disgust as he saw the £££ going up and up.

This Christmas in 2017, Kristian bought Matthew his first drone, this was something Matthew had dreamt of. He was overwhelmed and couldn't wait to show everybody.

The ending to their first Christmas together was not what they expected, as Matthew decided to fly his drone at night and hit the powerlines. The drone did not make it to boxing day. (December 2017)

Kristian had visited Chamonix prior to meeting Matthew, he knew it would exceed all of Matthew's expectations of a sightseeing holiday, and it did not disappoint.

They walked for miles and took in the french alps, as they enjoyed their time together celebrating Matthew's 24th birthday. Of course they didn't miss the opportunity to add yet another padlock to another one of their favourite destinations. (April 2018)

After a great 12 months in our apartment, they had our eyes set on the home they wanted to buy and renovate. It was a mammoth task, but all worth it as they got to call it their home and do what they wanted with it.

It was a huge step to commit themselves to this new project and build their future together. (September 2018)

Kristian and Matthew were over the moon when Kristian's mum and step dad invited them both to a 2 weeks all inclusive holiday to Mexico. 2 weeks full of love, laughter and so much fun. They experienced relaxation, boiling hot sun, Matthew being tipped upside down by the Mask and got to experience Coco Bongos. It was a holiday to remember! (June 2019)

1st January 2021, the best day of our lives so far, Matthew gets down on one knee at Filey Brigg. This location was so special to us as we visited Filey every single year, often just to sit in our car on the Brigg and eating fish and chips. We would also visit every single New Years Eve, it was our tradition which made this day all the more special.

We ventured out, Kristian.. Matthew and Adam. Kristian insisted that Adam came with us, but Matthew couldn't let on what the real plan was, so Adam came along with us to experience the best day of our lives.

This day in particular, Kristian wasn't feeling best pleased about the weather forecast, it was cold, windy and rain was on its way. Kristian proceeded to be very stubborn and say "I'm not getting out this car if its raining", what a nightmare for Matthew who was so nervous, as well as Kristian moaning which meant Matthew's big plan might fall through.

Kristian saw sense and decided to go across the Brigg, at this point Matthew and Adam are creating their master plan to catch Kristian. They often went ahead, leaving Kristian to watch the waves and sea foam, but we reached our destination... the highest point of the Brigg. Adam takes photographs of us, and as Kristian is posing and looking the other way, Matthew gets down on one knee and asks the question.

Will you marry me.. and of course Kristian said YES!

2021 turned out to be such a big year for us, after what was a dreadful year for everybody when the Pandemic hit.

We'd always dreamed of having our own dog together, so when we met Sunny we instantly fell in love with him.

How it all came about was Kristian had been pining for a dog all throughout lockdown, working from home, he really wanted a companion. Matthew loved the idea, however, it took some major convicining. Kristian would often show advertisements of puppy's for sale, to which Matthew wouldn't entertain the idea.

Deep down Matthew wanted a puppy, he just knew the responsibility they carry with them. One Sunday morning, Kristian was laid in bed and landed on an advert selling Labrador Retrievers in Saltburn by-the-Sea, which was 95 miles away from home.

Kristian spent the full day convincing Matthew that we must go see these puppies, and although Matthew still needed additional convincing, Kristian wasted no time messaging the breeder. After sharing this with Matthew, he agreed to go and see, but "We won't be buying one" were Matthew's words. Matthew decided to book half a day's holiday from work, and Kristian booked the day off as well.

Although Matthew insisted we wouldn't buy one, we still withdrew the money from the bank, and placed into an envelope. Kristian knew full well he'd be coming home with a puppy that day.

We met Sunny, he was obsessed with us, all the other puppies were more interested in fighting with each other, but Sunny, he picked us, and we couldn't let go. Sunny was by far the best thing to happen to us, and we love him so much. (April 2021)

There are so many strands to our story, and we could go on forever about all the amazing things we've got to experience over the years with our friends and family.

I'm sure we'll have so much to say after our Wedding Day.
